I went down to Pep Boys and found a roll of insulation with foil backing
and some 3M spray on adhesive.  I glued it down to the underside of the
tunnel with the foil side toward the gearbox and I sealed all of the edges
with black silicone calk.  It works great!  I havn't had any problems and
the heat and noise are a thing of the past.  The silicone is very important
though.  Without it, the foil will come loose because of wind and oil.
