Are you sure you aren't tripping yourself over TR-3 intake manifolds?  I can't 
count the number of times I've picked one of those up thinking it's a Spitfire 
manifold, staring at it in confusion.  I have to start the day at a swap meet 
looking at the two of them side by side to be able to keep the  differences 
straight for the rest of the day.  Regardless, I wouldn't be surprised if there 
actually was a difference in the manifold passages between the HS2 manifold and 
the HS4 manifold.

I have noticed that there are two different versions
of the 1296/1500 intake manifold though. The size of
the ports where they match up to the head is
different. Not sure which version goes with which
motor.
