Let me throw in a thought to this on-going "Oil" thread and see if
anybody has any opinions on this:

If you are storing the car and change the oil, filling only to the full
line on the dipstick, very few of the engine components will actually be
in contact with the lubricant during the winter (oil pump pickup, oil
pan...). If one wanted to really protect the engine during storage, why
not fill it all they way up to the top of the crankcase so the crank is
immersed in the oil?

It seems rather pointless to pour in new oil so that it simply rests in
the crankcase all winter collecting moisture only to be changed in the
Spring. It seems like a better proposition to simply drain the oil and
replace it in the spring as somebody suggested.

Now I open the floor for dissenting opinions. (Nt that it really
matters, because I hope to be in Arizona by the first freeze in
Seattle).
