Fred:

I must admit you have a point. They write those books with a camera in one
hand and a wrench in the other following a simple process.

1 - Take off a bolt/part
2 - take a picture
3 - Take a sip (beer)
3 - Describe the picture (steal text from factory manual)
4 - repeat 

This process continues until they run out of parts, film or beer. Since the
electrical diagrams are at the end of the manual and the beer, this explains
their notorious accuracy and thus the need for the Masters Electrical
Manual.

The difference between you and them is that while you have to eventually put
the parts back together and get the machine running, they can just
re-present unused images from the disassembly process in reverse order.
That's why the manual always starts with a working machine. You don't have
that luxury. (or if you do then you have too much time on your hands) ;^)
