Yes! It is possible!!!!
Keep saving your money in a TR account..........so much each month!......keep
looking..........buy the best restoration you can buy!......remember the
other guy spent too much to restore, both in time and money!
Found mine in the big city paper..........(Seattle.......30 miles from my
home).....$2,300.........(we're talking 12 years ago here).......worked my tail
off and put $17,000 into it, did all the work myself, except machine work and
paint.......got third place concours at the national convention of VTR in
1993..........I'm probably still probably $500 away from complete.......I'm
certainly not ready to sell.....but could maybe get $14,000 for it, if I'm
lucky........
So what do we have here........$2,300 TR4A-IRS (it did have a Surry Hard Top
which is now worth $1500 by itself).......invested $17,000 in parts and 2000
hours of my time......I make at least $25/hr........so say $50,000 in
time......we're up to $69,300 and counting..........gotta consider your fun,
eh?.....so
subtract a little.........let's call it $19,300.......that's a lot of eating
out, movies, booze, new sterios, DVD's, etc.........so here is a $50,000
investment which is worth about $14-15,000.........
My Point............let the other fool.......(that's me!) spend the big
bucks......and buy the best restoration that you can.......I get sick, can't
drive,
my wife will sell it.........for $14,000..............maybe less if she is
hurting for cash.........
Buy the best restoration that you can for the money you have, save your
money, and look for the DEAL, eh?...........<g>............I'll bet you have
one in
less than an year.........
