I'm considering buying some spoke (wire?) wheels for my Spitfire Mk3. Somebody told me that that kind of wheels require a good deal of maintenance and are more fragile than the normal kind of wheels.

The rear axle on my Spitfire Mk3 '70 has developed (I'm not sure if it was there when I bought it) a 'rumbling' sound. It is repeating itself proportional to the speed of the car (probably once every

I understand that the Spitfire 1500 engine is not in general regarded as better than the (Mk3) 1300 because it does not rev. as well. It also seems to have some inherent problems with the bearings. D
