- I am running a 2500 motor (in a 1977 2500 S saloon) that is fitted with twin 1-3/4" SU's. At high revs in all gears I intermittently get a drop off in power that feels as if my wheels are slipping in

- Thanks Robert, are you suggesting that my advance is shifting around or I think I will try removing the vacuum advance line and seeing if that works. What is the down side of removing and plugging th

- I have been saying this to mechanics for a while and nobody else has agreed. Nice to finally have someone think the way I think. There was work done on the distributor re: the vacuum advance. I guess

- This is interesting. I have noticed that when the engine is colder (after a start or letting it sit for an hour or two then getting back in for another drive) the slipping/starvation/timing problem i

- Ok, I'm going to weigh in on the other side of this, and say that fuel delivery at high rpm can easily be a problem, if there is any sort of restriction in the fuel line. Checking pressure right at t

- Any chance you recently changed the gas cap from vented to non-vented and the pump is sucking against the (almost) sealed tank? Right after the problem, stop, leave engine running and see if you have

- The 2500S as sold in Australia and New Zealand has a non-vented fuel tank, so the petrol cap is not the issue, in fact it must seal or else fuel will spill, especially around right hand corners. Like

- Yes I have had it rev hard even with the issues - but the revs were not providing power - it was strange. The needle hit 5700 when we had some issues with clutch slip. I was at 4000 or so and working
