Greetings all... I'm quite the dunce when it comes to anything electrical, so this may be a stupid question. Are there any options for hooking up a modern car stereo in my (currently) positive ground

One more option is to buy a polarity converter to power the radio. These devices convert negative volts to positive. Radio Shack may sell one. Paul W. 1964 TR4 1956 TR3 a stereo negative body.

Joe, so what's your objection to the polarity converter (besides cost) ? While I do NOT recommend what Joe is suggesting, there is no reason that such a setup could not be controlled by the ignition

Joe, so what's your objection to the polarity converter (besides cost) ? Mostly cost but they are not as reliable as just switching polarity. Then there is the problem of where to hide the ugly box!

You could totally isolate the neg radio from pos ground and switch the wires so you can use a modern radio in a pos ground car - but the first defect in insulation or even by a twitching heater cabl

Gee, weren't capacitors invented back then ? A nice 0.1 uf mica cap is just about a direct connection at RF frequencies, but an open circuit at DC ... Randall
