Hey listers, Well, I've been driving the trusty TR a lot this year (over 5500 miles so far), and thought I'd let you all know of the latest occurrence with my baby. On a page of my website, http://ww

I didn't hear or feel any kind of warning from the u-joint. Everything seemed fine and then just randomly it broke. I think once we pull the axle/u-joint out, we'll be able to figure out what happene

I am replacing all of my U joints now as part of my rebuild. The drive shaft was easy, the half shafts are a B&%$*#. I noted that the U Joints I obtained for the drive shaft were Japanese and were c

I would think twice about honing the holes to accept larger caps. The replacement U-joints are the problem and you are adjusting a perfectly good yoke to make it fit a problem part. If you do this,

Something to try. Before you reassemble your ujoints, wet the parts with Bardahl Oil. I watched a demo of this and was amazed at how the parts would not go together dry, but slipped together wet. Ed

We just did all of that for "Rosey", had no problem with the U-Joints, I don't use any brand but Spicer ... well worth the cost ... however we found almost every flange to be distorted or worn out! T

I regret to say that I was not smart enough to order Spicers. Let that be a lesson to the others on the list; Moss parts will not necessarily be a good fit; If you can go with a known good supplier,

Excellent suggestion Richard. I will do that. Yes, one should have part of the joint in the cap when tapping. But when one is swearing, holding the yoke, the joint, the cap, a BFH, and has a high fru

Peter is right here. I purchased my u-joints from Auto Zone. These were Spicer units and the fit was snug. Need not need to alter the yoke. Dale I would think twice about honing the holes to accept

List--I was pleasantly surprised to find the last two u-joints I received from MossMotors were the Spicers. I guess they use several suppliers, as I didn't specify. Price was around $15 ea. Dick TR6
