I think it depends on the car. Mazda issued a TSB for premature clutch
wear, applicable to customers with a "habit" of hard acceleration. They
changed the clutch facing to accomodate it.
It'd be pretty hard for Mazda to argue that hard, high boost acceleration
is outside the expected usage pattern for a RX-7 TT. But I agree with you
WRT many autocross cars, Neons included.
