Our radios already support multiple channels.

The problem with having the starter (or anyone) radio in the numbers is that
the card sorter isn't always ready to receive the information.  That's the
advantage of being able to look out anytime within a 20-25 second window to
determine the car at the line.  Radioing is a poor second choice, though it
may be sometimes necessary.
