I can testify to that, but it happened to me twice and both times it was a
dual reservoir master cylinder that failed.
That is where my parking brake and tranny skills come in handy.
Insert the F word followed by others right after brake pedal hit floor.

There's a good reason cars are not manufactured with a single braking
system, and that's because IF something brakes, you're screwed, big time.
AND, it happened to me just the other day.
