When I bought my Midget is was just for an occasional driver. I took it to my
first car show so I could line it up beside others and see what was really
missing. To my surprise I took a third place. I then "fixed" all of the
problems and replaced all of the missing parts and took it to another show a
year later and got a first. I have now driven it about seven thousand miles and
have received nine first places in a row. There were at least three shows where
I didn't deserve the win. My car is a non original chromed up toy like I would
liked to have had forty years ago. There were a few real nice restored original
cars that should have won. The majority isn't always right. Lets face it,
there is room for all of the different cars and owners with different
interests. Do what you want to your car chrome it, drive it, trailer it, or
leave it in the garage. Do what makes YOU smile! The Spridget owners are the
most friendly and helpful bunch I have seen, I like all of the cars but I like
the people more. I think that it is great that there are some perfect examples
that are being maintained to original standards. What else will our grand
children use to compare, when they try to return ours to original forty years
form now? Now if you have an original $300,000 Cobra, that's a different story.
