Excuse me, but whatever happened to the antiquated concept of teaching
"responsibility"?  Let him get a job and either pay for the repairs to the
car he destroyed, or buy a different one himself.  If he does either of the
above, he might understand the value of a car.  While you are at it, I would
also make him earn the cost of a full year's insurance before I would let
him drive it.  Tell him he's lucky that he isn't MY kid!
