Rubber bumper TR6's didn't come from the factory with an "overdrive
emblem" on the top right rear valance. If you have that emblem some PO
added it, maybe because they thought it looked nice. Overdrive cars came
with an "O" at the end of their commission number, for example:
CF55693UO.
The "J" type o/d gives a ratio of.797 in 4th gear and with a
non-overdrive final drive ratio of 3.70 that equates to a ratio of 2.95
in o/d.
Hope this helps,

Jim,
I owned two new 1974 TR6s with rubber overrides and both were delivered
with the "overdrive" emblem on rear valance. Maybe by 1975, they were
discontinued.
