<< Steve, et al,

My '68 GT6 has Datsun half-shafts and, I believe, hubs. The car passed tech
for SCCA (EP) and SVRA (3E) and I think that was the trick set-up back in
the early 80's. I'm told it addressed the problem of twisted shafts and
presumably broken hubs. This car was raced since new (or at least since '71
according to the log). I don't know when that mod was made.

Has Kas weighed in on this?

Hi John, this is exactly what I mean by anecdotal evidence. We've all heard
of it, you've got the Datsun hubs, I've got the Datsun hubs, Tons of TR4-A's
have them (or variations), even the Loti do a similar conversion. But when
challenged by some of the more rabid authenticity crowd will we be able to
prove it's legality? Jack believes the conversions to be fairly open by the
time of the 67 SCCA rulebook so perhaps this is a moot point. But even if it
is a non-issue it is good food for thought.
