The Bugs, of course, stood no chance against the Alfas in Trans-Am. In
the 1966 season, Alfa actually scored more points than Ford, who won in
the larger displacement division. Alfa also won the inaugural Trans-Am
race outright. The finishing order in the inaugural event was Jochen
Rindt in an Alfa GTA, followed by Bob Tulius in a Dodge Dart, followed
by 3 more Alfas! ;=)
