I am happy to have been the benefactor of an unconditional night in Geneseo=
. Racing a Triumph was not a requirement to be welcomed by Jack and France=
s. I will always remember the tour of Jack's garage in the morning and real=
izing how technologically behind I was. My desert dwelling kids got their =
first run through a real corn field across the street from the Drew's home.=
Jack=2C and Joe's=2C willingness to let an unknown guy invade the privacy=
of their homes=2C made my dream of returning and running at Road America a=
reality in 2005. Jack's enthusiasm and generosity have been an inspiratio=
n to me. I hope to some day be half the man and driver he was.............=

My engine was down on power after two seasons on those rings and I discover=
ed this in my lap times at the Chicago Historics. For the feature Jack said=
=2C "what the heck=2C let's put on a show". We passed and re-passed about =
three times a lap=2C and each time at Turn Five. The spectators on the ble=
achers started standing and cheering=2C we heard later. On the last lap=2C =
at the last turn=2C I was ahead and did not want to be first at the chequer=
ed flag. I waved him up=2C but he did not respond. So I came off of the gas=
and then onto the brakes. So did Jack. Tony was watching. and said=2C=
"that was first time he ever saw two cars cross the finish line with thei=
r noses in the 'down' attitude and brakes lights on".=20
(I am sure it was a point of discussion in the tower=2C too)=
