        Thanks for the nice description. But what exactly is a
        "clearenced" oil pump and who the heck is Ken Gillanders?

Ken Gillanders runs British Frame and Engine. He's been racing four cylinder
TRs for about 30 years, and is past technical secretary of a southern
california Triumph club; they have three volumes of collected writings about
preparation and modification that are highly recommended.

Ken has a lot of connections with the British racing community; he imports a
lot of the parts that Racestorations offers. It's a low-overhead operation run
mostly out of his garage, but he knows his stuff, he answers his own phone, and
he's very friendly to deal with.

A clearanced pump is basically a pump that's been rebuilt and set for optimal
clearances for maximal flow.
