I'll 'ditto' Pete's disclaimer, but Loctite makes a line of products just
for situations like this : "Retaining Compound 638" or perhaps "Retaining
Compound 660".

I don't recall which one, but I'm using one of these to hold the front hub
on my TR3's rather worn crankshaft nose, it works quite well.
