Let's lay this whole issue to rest with a few facts.

The amount of dues each of us pays each year is divided into two parts
- National and Regional. You pay the whole shebang to Denver. But,
once the money hits the National Office, the Regional part is taken
out and sent back to the Region (usually to the Regional Treasurer or
Membership Chairman)

The amount you pay for National Dues is fixed - $45 for Regular
Membership - $10 more to add your spouse - and $70 for the whole famn
damily. That is, it's fixed until the BOD decides to change it!

The amount you pay for Regional Dues, on the other hand, can be
adjusted by the Region every year. Here in Red River Region, we
currently pay $12 Regular - $5 more for the spouse - and $17 to add in
the whole klan. And we haven't changed it for several years.

Plus, if you sign up a Speed Freakz member, $5 of his/her dues comes
back to the region, whether it's a Regular or Competition Speed Freakz
membership. The rest goes to National.

So, there's the dollars and cents structure. Whatever you check off
on your membership renewal form determines where your NATIONAL dues
go. But, what happens to your Regional dues is entirely up to your
Region.

If you don't know what happens to your Regional dues, or if you don't
like where they're going now, that's one more reason to get more
actively involved in the administration of your Region. We can ALWAYS
use more involvement!!! 8<{)
