Properly speaking you need to buy the rulebook to compete, so you should
throw that in there too and call it $25.

A couple of things. First, I've no intention of convincing you of
anything, that falls firmly into the category of "not my job". Second, I
think we agree that you ARE receiving value for your membership, your
issue is whether it is a net gain or loss for your particular situation.
Different issues. Third, there are some peripheral benefits to SCCA
members at different event types, primarily having to do with insurance
coverage, but I don't have the details. Group discounts *would* be nice,
particularly as they market our address information to companies in the
first place.

I don't understand why you would consider that response a flame; if you're
evaluating your membership on such direct financial criteria it would seem
an obvious and reasonable approach for you to take. No one on the lists
you are posting to can affect the net value of an SCCA membership to you.
What response are you looking for?
