I have had a Petronix Ignitor on my TR4 for some time now and have never
had any problem.  Remember that if you have a ballast resistor, you must
install the + side (red wire) to the side of the resistor which goes to
the ignition switch.  I just recently installed one on my Stag and have
not had any problems.  It is a very simple unit, which is totally self
contained in the distributor cap.
