There are coarse and fine pitch metric thread bolts in same sizes.  There
is also, I think, an inbetween pitch.

Of course, there are UNEF (extra fine) and other "standard" pitch
applications including the ACME "power thread" Used in screw jacks and the
like.

Nothing is as simple as it appears to be.
