Gerald:

The two into one manifold with two outlets and the short dual down pipe
remained the same during the entire run of the 4A.  The TRA Concours manual
states: "Two different types of TR4A systems were used regardless of type of
rear axle.  The early system (with three mufflers) was phased out due to
expense to produce and replace.  It was replaced by a system that, in
general architecture, was kept through the TR6 production run.  The change
from the dual rear mufflers to the single transverse mounted muffler was
about CT (or CTC) 70000."

Don't understand why one of our major suppliers can't get that right.

Wadia mean "so what", this is serious Concours stuff - right Randall!
