As Mark pointed out, "Timing/Scoring" software usually does both. Stand
alone systems don't.
PC's are reliable, cheap, and readily available.
I might argue about Windows95 (and newer) not being reliable enough, since
all the PC's I use run for days or months without problems. The real problem
is it's difficult to get the timing accuracy we need with Windows. Accucros
is a DOS program, as is AX/Ware.
