Joe,

The question that was posed was whether to pack the bearing or not...for the
sake of lubrication.  And the advice not to pack it with additional grease
was the context in which that advice was given.   If I remember correctly
the idea was that it already had enough lubrication and didn't require
additional grease, not that more grease would create some kind of problem.
