Point in hand......

I just had a long conversation with John at TRF regarding Dzus fasteners. None
of the other suppliers have them in stock. If you look at VB's catalog, they
have
them listed at $16.95 each (you need 4 for a TR3 Windscreen alone). The problem
seems
to be that Dzus will only ship 10,000 units at a reasonable cost and jacks the
price
up for anything less (which VB is the only one willing to buy). I asked John if
they
thought about getting together with other distributors and buy together at the
lower
price. He spoke to VB and they were only willing to sell them to TRF at retail
price.

So, what does TRF do.... They are negotiating with a manufacture to produce a
better
quality fastener at a much lower price. So who do you think they have in mind
when
they
take the time and effort to do this? If everyone sold it at the $16.95 price,
we'd
pay $16.95.
TRF would have their share of sales just as VB and MOSS. But TRF believes this
is
not in their customers' best interest.

Enough said. Onto other Triumph discussions.
