Mike,
Another option is to ceramic coat your header.  Jet Hot is the place I used.
Comes highly recommended.  I am going to use header wrap on the underside of the
heat shield.  My thought is that this should provide another measure of
protection.  Heat is a big deal in this part of the playground.
