I am not sure how some of you guys got the idea that certain high profile
people with exotic cars get appearance and tow money. As long as I have been
involved on the so called "inside", I haven't seen it happen. Who gives this
money and how can I get some? As a matter of fact, the only free entries that
I have been able to negotiate for people went to very low budget racers who I
felt deserved some help to get to a particular featured marque event.

As for the old stock cars, I have tried to promote that very thing, with very
poor results. Some of you may have seen the 1950 Oldsmobile that my friend
Marshall Griffin owns, and that I have driven in exhibition. He actually has
two other '50 model Olds race cars as well. Occaisionally we will see others,
but they are pretty rare. There certainly is no reason why you couldn't
recreate some of these since most of the real ones are gone. This would be no
different than building a Sprite or MG. Please recognize that I am not trying
to degrade Sprites, but use them as an example since they are commonly used
as an entry level car.

Thirdly; I don't mean to imply that the little guys, of which I am one, don't
pay their fair share. If fairness is your main concern, then life must be
hard to handle. I am sorry that some of you don't like the terms "rich guys"
and "poor guys", but you will find that I am not very sensitive to political
correctness and that gets me in trouble from time to time. I just say what I
think is true, and in this case, I think open dialogue is healthy. If I
offend someone, it's not on purpose, but it sure won't be the first time I
have accidentally done it. Just ask my wife!
