Living in England during the early 80's taught me the value of using
flashers. At that time, it was customary to flash slow drivers in the fast
or #1 lane to move over to allow faster traffic to proceed. UK law
stipulates that one can not overtake on the right. I was both the flashee
and flasher at times. I'm not sure if it is illegal there but it is common
practice. While living in Australia, I found drivers in Oz have the same
habit. Don't know if it is illegal there, either. The only problem I've
had Stateside is flashing my headlights when cruising down the freeway fast
lane. No one seems to know why I'm flashing my lights. They just proceed
slowly. D**m American drivers!
