The problem is that if SCCA allows trunk kits for certain cars, they become
required equipment for everyone else to be competitive with them.  I've been
looking into a "stock" setup for my 95 Saturn SC2 (especially after blowing
my BMW's times out of the water by a good 4 seconds yesterday).  They're a
good base, like the Neon, but the main thing I need for autox is a stiffer
suspension.  That ain't exactly going to be cheap.  If I just "run what I
brung," there's no way I'll be competitive, even in stock.  And we've
rehashed the sticky/street tire thread many times - I'll mention it as
another example, then let it drop.
